In this video, we’re going to talk about something that every business needs to understand, and this is how sales funnels work. No matter if we’re talking about small or large companies, sales funnels are a must in every business’ marketing.

So if you want to know how sales funnels work, go and watch this video right now.

First of all, we need to filter out those who are interested. How can we do that? We can write blog posts; we can use Facebook or do videos, use SEO, which is search engine optimization or PR. So in the first step, we need to find strangers who are interested in our business.

Then step #2: we ask for their email address in exchange for useful material. You can’t miss this step because it allows for almost free communication.

Step #3: we create a pleasant shopping experience with a low commitment entry offer. It allows us to build trust.

Step #4: we use this trust to sell more products.

Step #5: we continuously give them value because we want them to be fans to recommend us to others.

And if they recommended us to others and they are interested in our business, they will give us their email address as well, and maybe they will buy our first offer; then perhaps they will buy our upsells and maybe they will become fans and will recommend us to others.

Of course, not everyone will go through all five steps. Some will only reach the second step; some will go to the fourth. The deeper we go in the funnel, the fewer people get there. This is natural.
Therefore your sales process will be in the form of a funnel where the size of each step represents the number of people in that step.
The percentage of customers that pass from one step to the next is called conversion and is usually expressed as a percentage. For example, if your sign-up conversion is 50%, it means that every second visitor signs up for you right away.

The better the conversion between the steps of your funnel, the more effective your sales funnel is, and the faster, the more profitable your business will be.

Therefore it is essential to continuously optimize your sales funnel. If your sign-up rate is only 25% instead of 50%, it means that going through the funnel; you will have half the number of customers, half the number of returning customers, and half the number of fans at the end.

Of course, to optimize, you need to measure. It means that you have to have accurate data on how many people move from one step to the next.

Another benefit of measurement is that knowing the data will allow you to plan more accurately. You will know that 50% of 1000 visitors will sign up, and 10% of that 50% will buy immediately. So 1000 people who are interested means 500 email addresses and 50 instant purchases.

If the cost per 1000 clicks returns on these numbers, you can immediately start running your ads profitably.
